it's been a while

it's been a while since i've posted.  tapping out these sporadic entries reminds me of those days in AP english when we were subject to periodic timed writings.  i used to dread those 50 minutes of hell, where we were forced to scribble down thorough analyses of specific literary topics.  while i usually received high marks, i never liked doing them, and wondered how anybody could list "writing" as a plausible hobby.  so i guess it's ironic that several years later i keep this blog.

highlights of the last several weeks:

  • took a family vacay to mexico.  cancun, to be exact.  it was my first trip to mexico, and i'm glad to see that i haven't missed out on not visiting our dirty neighbors to the south all these years. thankfully, i came home sans TB or hepatitis.
  • went to the britney spears concert.  i have to say, i was impressed.  the circus theme translates very well in concert form, with a myriad of acrobatic performances accompanying britney's mediocre dancing and lip-synching.
  • survived two weeks of boot camp.  while i was originally signed up for 10 days of 6am hell, i soon realized that i had made an egregious error in judgment when i thought i would voluntarily wake up to have my ass kicked that early.  instead, i showed up faithfully at 6:30pm every day to suffer the consequences of a sedentary person plunging suddenly into an intense regiment of lunges, crunches, stair climbs and more.  i'm sure if i continued the program i'd see great results, but alas, 2 weeks' tuition for boot camp costs only slightly less than my annual membership to 24H.
