random thoughts

i have writer's block. not that i write about substantial topics often, but it makes even collecting my thoughts more difficult....

- i need to stop projecting expectations onto people who aren't obligated to fulfill them. i see this as only setting myself up for disappointment. i hold high standards for myself, and i guess i naturally (and wrongly) expect those whom i respect to maintain those same standards of excellence.

- there is no substitute for time - not an extensive array of similarities or a strong sentiment of comfortability can trump the weight history affords.

- an integral part to happiness is finding balance, but not when the choices you're presented with are at distant extremes. it's only when the nuances are subtle that your decisions will be more likely to maximize your own well-being.

- frequently-occurring cravings: hot dogs, jack in the box tacos, cake, and cookies. sometimes, i think i'm pregnant.

and lastly,

- brains, ambition, and $. that's all i ask for.
