exams are bad. open-book exams, on the other hand, are awesome :) after disproving the "grad school grades are inflated" theory last semester, i am happy to find a welcome exception in my FSA class. now i don't feel too bad for shopping online during lecture.

lately, i've been an amalgam of emotions. i think i know what to attribute this to; no matter how strong and resolute i feel on the inside, there are always certain vulnerabilities to which i am susceptible. recent instances have reminded me, however, that i still have it better than many... that there is always someone leading a harder life than my own.

i started my yogalates class last friday, which proved to be more difficult than i had anticipated. by far the youngest, thinnest, and least limber person in the class, i was pretty embarrassed when the 70-year old grandma outlasted me in down dog and reverse triangle. i'll have to start eating breakfast before these sessions to avoid being sidelined by nausea.

oh, did i forget to mention that there are some pretty fit 70-year olds that take classes each session?
