the denouement is always anticlimactic. instead of going out with a bang, things have a way of fading bit by bit into oblivion. that's the story of my life, i guess - nothing crazy, mostly predictable, sometimes disappointing.
i got two fortunes in my fortune cookie today. one says that i am strong and brave, and that i should use this strength to pull through. this could not be a more fitting "fortune" for the predicament i'm facing, nor could the other fortune be a sweeter complement. i was bemused at the timing during which these two slips of paper found their way into my life, and hopeful that their predictions would prove more substantive than mere conjectures.
i have several resolves to add to my huge mental list of self-improvements:
- make more meaningful friendships
- be bolder
- be less picky about trivial matters and more picky with the important ones
- curse less
- put myself first
