austin, etc.

i drank too much tea and ate too many m&ms, and now i feel cracked out. apparently, my caffeine tolerance has not increased as much as my ability to handle liquor (i am now a TWO shot wonder, thankyouverymuch). anyway, this does not bode for a productive day, so i am going to blog instead.

i went to austin this past weekend to see the killers live at the erwin center. i would do what everyone else has already done and sing their praises, but with them being my favorite band, it's pretty much a given that anything brandon flowers does would be met with a mostly positive reaction. he'd have to fart mr. brightside for me to say anything questioning the killers' entertainment value. in essence, it was an excellent concert, made even better by front row seats.

i've said before that school is making me stupid. i've realized, though, that all the time i spend reading business books and talking to fobs is not the only culprit in my decreased mental speed and questionable mastery of the english language. AIMing and reading blogs have really taken a toll on my ability to spell and form grammatically correct sentences (no worries, if you are a friend whose blog i read, i'm not talking about you). the main reason why english was always my best subject in grade school was because i was a voracious reader of award-winning literature. while i do not expect (nor would i myself employ) well thought-out syntax in personal web publications and internet communication, i can tell it has negatively affected my ability to write, and to a lesser extent, speak. i think one day i may serve as a caveat for the overusage of the world wide web.
