i want to say i'm feeling coy, but that's not really it. i think i'm just humoring the situation - not really hiding what i know, but not divulging anything either.
i hate that it's so easy to make me feel guilty. i have a hypersensitive conscience.... if i can't make it better, i feel bad - even if it's not my fault, it's out of my control, or not my responsibility. is this why i overcompensate for supposed shortcomings?
is it possible to be empathetic but not warm?
it's always the same story - i don't instigate controversy; i react to it. defense.
it's frustrating... reading between the lines of what people don't say to you. what they fail to mention can say a helluva lot more than what is verbally communicated. and as always, actions speak louder than words. i get it.
i'm a person that evaluates the little things - to me, a simple "thank you" can go a long way. i believe in propriety - opening doors, waiting for every person to be served before eating, a general acknowledgment of favors performed, etc. manners are not overrated. i respect people who are conscientious enough to express appreciation for things that many others would take for granted.
