serendipity. a fortunate accident... or a mistake? only time will tell. i will try not to over analyze the situation in the meantime.

i am more motivated to make changes for someone else than for myself. is it possible to take myself for granted?

everyone knows that i am extremely averse to associating with any kind of seafood. i don't like to see it, smell it, and i will NOT, under any circumstances, eat it. it is surprising, then, that i bought a bottle of fish oil, with the intention of swallowing 2-4 pills every day. after 22 years of purposely avoiding any contact with this most hated of foods, you can imagine my extreme discomfort when faced with the proposition of actually putting one of these horse pills in my mouth. i stared at the first enteric-coated softgel for 20 minutes, shuddering and bemoaning my sudden desire for shiny hair and nails. eventually, i worked up enough courage to quickly swallow one of these nasty fish oil pills, chased with a generous amount of coffee.

since i still have 58 pills to go, i have decided to reposition my omega-3 supplements as something other than a reviled daily chore, and have relabeled the bottle accordingly:

----------------------------

and because i seem to have regained a smidgen of motivation since my most recent quarter-century mini-crisis, i will make a concerted effort to finish several tasks in the next two weeks:

+ take 2 "happy pills" per day
+ run 3 times (i'm trying to make my goals realistic)
+ lose 3 pounds
+ buy a new bed
+ complete MS application
+ decide what to do next semester
+ take dog to the groomer
+ get suit(s) tailored

...and what prompted this fish, i mean happy, pills thing? how ironic, i just finished reading about omega3s in a CE.

did i ever tell you about how i used to have to take a tablespoon of cod liver oil every morning before going to school? ick. even the thought of it makes me gag.
