target employees are evil

what was supposed to be a casual, splurge-free trip to target, somehow turned into one where i unintentionally exited with 4 bags of discounted halloween candy. while i was innocently meandering the aisles, i was abruptly stopped by the exhortations of 3 target employees restocking the shelves.... "can i help you with something? how about a bag of these reeses pieces? this wall is all 75% off!" no thanks, i said to myself, and gave them a feeble smile. yet somehow i found myself reaching for a bag of mixed chocolates. "these are really good, right here," goaded an employee. "the more you buy, the less we have to stack," encouraged another. and with that, a bag of animal crackers, rolos, and almond joys found their way into my arms. i am weak! and now a future posterchild for obesity. but before you all roll your eyeballs at my lack of discipline, i would just like to say, i consider this a public service! i just helped a group of target employees be more efficient at work. and everyone knows, a happy employee is a good employee... whose services will eventually benefit the larger masses. i will be expecting a corporate thank you letter in the mail next week.
